Production skills

Firstly, this is our preliminary production, a short video that is a romantic comedy of a young man who is seeing three women at the same time. The trailer shows how they argue when the girls find out that he is messing around. Our preliminary shows basic skills of our understanding of how to make a romantic film trailer. The purpose of our preliminary is to extend our understanding of how to effectively produce a film trailer. It enables me to think about what sort of shot types are effective and the length of each shot. It also highlighted the issues we may face whilst recording dialogue and using a backing track. 

Furthermore to our preliminary I have made a presentation on what makes effective production work. It considers the commonly made mistakes and how to achieve an A grade when creating a film trailer. It helps us to plan our film trailer, crafting it around the key elements of what makes effective production work.

After looking at an overview of what makes an effective trailer, I have gone on to consider ways in which I can use shot composition to make my production work effective.








 The software I will be using to edit my production is adobe premiere 13. On my preliminary I used imovie and therefore need to familiarize myself with the new software. In my group we each considered a different aspect of editing.I have watched a tutorial on editing my trailer. It shows how to cut clips and how to delete certain aspects of the clip which will be useful when we are cutting down clips which are too long for our trailer.
